Movie Review: Crazy/Beautiful(2001)

This is a movie that I saw years ago. It must have been almost 18 years since I saw this film for the first time. I just remember wanting to see this because of the actors. The film Bring it on, had just came out and it was very popular, and this actress was in it. The actress is Kirsten Dunst, and I was just starting to understand what exactly movies and acting were. I was about 10 at the time so everything was new to me.

The movie Crazy/Beautiful, seemed like it would be a good movie. I think that it was a great film. I have not seen this film in few years, but it always catches my attention when I see something about it. The story is a classic teenage love story girl likes boy, parents hates boy and tries to break them up you know the drill.

This is an okay film; the acting is great, and the story is good. This is a film that is good if want to just sit on the couch and chill and get a little distracted with the world. This is a film that is mostly for young adults so take that at your own will. Kristen Dunst and Jay Hernandez are great in their roles.

I would give this film a solid 6 out of 10. It is okay, but there is a lot more that could have been told.

Movie Review: Double Jeopardy(1999)

I have watch this moved about 3 or 4 times, and I love it almost every time. Double Jeopardy, introduce me to double jeopardy the law. The story about a wife being framed for the murder of her husband, but he is not dead. The story is a little complicated, but it was good. At least I think it was good for what it is. This is the first movie that I saw with Ashley Judd, and I must say she was good in this movie. Tommy Lee Jones, I knew him, but I never really watched anything that he was in before.

I would say this is a movie to watch if there is nothing else to watch and you want to be thrilled and need a little mystery in your life. I would give this movie a solid 3 out 5 stars. The reason I am saying this is there is a lot going on, but there is still room to make this movie better. This movie is currently on Netflix, so you watch at any time.

Movie Review: What’s Love Got to Do with It(1993)

This movie must be one of my all times favorite. I have watched this movie almost 50 times. What’s Love Got to Do with It, is a movie that I think is a staple in a black child’s life. I know that sounds strange, but it is a movie that me and family watch all the time. This movie introduced me to Tina Turner, and I am forever grateful for that. This movie is the story of Tina Turner’s life, and it is truly breathtaking. My only problem with the movie is that I wish the movie were a little bit longer. There is so much that was missing and things I wanted to learn more about. I eventually learn them on my own, but I think they needed to be told.

This is a movie that everybody must see, and I just love this movie. Angela Bassett and Lawrence Fishburne did not play Ike and Tina, they were Ike and Tina. They both deserved everything that they got with these roles. Watch this movie whenever you get a chance, and you will not regret it.

Poem: The Lonely Road

The lonely road, the one I most frequently travel.

It is not always great, but for me it has made me the way I am.

The bumps and the curves showed me that sometimes you must adjust to get the goal.

The fog covered nearly everything around, but through it all I kept going.

Time after time I thought maybe I should turn back.

What am I doing here?

This is not for me, and I need to take the road that everyone knew.

Then when you least expect it, but right when you need them.

Joy appears and so does hope of being us.

It was always just me and my road the one that nobody knows.

Then one day it became less lonely someone else was there.

I was not expecting this, but the bumps started to smooth out.

The fog was starting to clear, and my vison was nearly 20/20.

Is this real could this be.

The one that I have hope for are you the one that I needed.

This is it this is me.

The lonely road has saved me, and now I can become we.

It seemed too good to be true, and it was.

The lonely road had played me once again.

Movie Review: Parasite(2019)

I must say when I finally watched this movie, I was quite surprised about how good it was. Parasite must be one the best movies that came out within the last couple of years. I know a lot of people do not like to watch forging movies, and they do not like to read the subtitles, but you get used to it. To be honest you do not even notice them after a while. I must admit that it took me some time to get used to it, but once the movie gets to the second act it picks up. This is a movie you watch if you have time and watch to learn.

The one thing that stood out to me was the storytelling. It was different than almost anything that I have ever seen. This made me want to tell stories like this, something that was different. Bong Joon-ho did a fantastic job with this movie.
