Poem: Flames

I am lost without the sea.

I look up to see if the stars are shinning.

The fire that leads to smoke is one that I started.

It gave me fumes to live, but not enough to breath.

I wake everyday trying to start that fire, but nothing will burn.

The energy that it needs is some that I do not have.

I try everyday to make the fire grow from deep within.

That only leads to disaster outside.

How much long until the flames are gone?

Will the people see me asking for help, or will it be too late?

There is not much time left, and the old flames are burning low.

Is my heat gone.

I am starting to believe so.

I think my fire is burnt out, and my flames are no more.
